Bhikshuni Guo-Jing

▸Introduction

The present Director of Chung-Hwa Institute of Buddhist Studies, Bhikshuni Guo-Jing, had been following Master Sheng Yen to become a Buddhist nun as soon as she got a BA degree from Soochow University.

Earlier, she was assigned to work as the Director, Director-in-chief etc. at Nung Chan Monastery for 10 years; then, she decided to go to Japan for further Buddhist studies. After she got her PhD degree from Bukkyo University in Japan in September 2003, she came back and took the job as the Vice Dean of Dharma Drum Sangha University. At the same time, she taught as an Assistant Professor at Chung-Hwa Institute of Buddhist Studies, and has been teaching as an Part-time Assistant Professor at National Chung Hsin University ever since.

Soon after she quit the job as the Vice Dean of Dharma Drum Sangha University in 2008, she took over the position as the Director of Chung-Hwa Institute of Buddhist Studies, and has taught as a full-time Assistant Professor at Dharma Drum Buddhist College simultaneously.
